Project Highlight: Marvelous Modern Renovation + kul grilles Vent Covers

Arts & Architecture magazine introduced the Modern Case Study House Program in 1945 that ran intermittently until 1966. The idea was to partner with prominent Architects such as Richard Neutra, Charles Eames, Pierre Koening, and Eero Saarinen, among others to design 36 experimental prototype home plans. These homes were designed to meet specific directives. They were to be constructed using American manufactured materials, efficiently built and easily replicated to formulate price-accessible, post-war residential neighborhoods of the future. The project started in California but the architecture trend subsequently stretched across America.

Linear rooflines, vaulted beamed ceilings, and expanses of glass became signatures of the Mid-Century Modern design movement. Suburban neighborhoods with larger lot sizes accommodated more expansive floor plans. Allowing homes to have an open flow and minimalist feel.
